BMW R68
-
One of the highlights of the 1951 International Bicycle and Motorcycle Show(IFMA) in Frankfurt was the R 68 that went into production in mid-1952. With its 594 cc engine delivering 35 hp at a comparatively high 7.000 rpm and with a top speed of 160 km/h, it entered motorcycle history as the “100-mile racer”. The BMW R 68 was a sporty motorbike with welded tubular frame and telescopic fork to the front but still had the direct rear wheel suspension at the back.
